GIBcam platforms
Platform - what's that?
GIBcam platforms contain requirements for hardware (processor, RAM, graphics, hard disk, etc.) and software (operating system, driver, etc.) for the intended and effective use of the
GIBcam software together. They are based on the current state of PC technology. When defining the platforms, it is assumed that the computer as a working device is an essential part of the CAD/CAM process chain.
All platforms listed represent the system requirements necessary for GIBcam v2024!
Platform "C12.x64"
GIBcam.x64 license necessary
· Multi core processor Intel® Core™-i9 (Skylake-X mit SSE4.2/AVX/AVX512, min. 8 cores)
· NVIDIA graphic card/processor with OpenGL 4.x / CUDA 4.x, GeForce product line
· min. 64 GB RAM
· support of max. 12 cores/threads with 128 GB RAM
· Microsoft Windows 11 64bit
· Screen resolution 2560x1440
· Internet access for licensing, update service, info channel, support/data transfer and remote maintenance
· Single licensing, network licensing or internet licensing by Sentinel license key
A license for the C12 platform is only issued in conjunction with a GIBcam workstation.
Platform "I10.x64"
GIBcam.x64 license necessary
· Multi core processor Intel® Core™-i7 (Instructionset SSE4.2/AVX2, min. 4 or 6 cores)
· NVIDIA graphic card/processor with OpenGL 4.x / CUDA 4.x, GeForce product line
· min 24 GB RAM
· Microsoft Windows 11 64bit
· Screen resolution 2560x1440
· Internet access for licensing, update service, info channel, support/data transfer and remote maintenance
· Single licensing, network licensing or internet licensing by Sentinel license key
Platform "X64"
GIBcam.x64 license necessary
· Multi core processor Intel® Core™-i5/-i7/-i9
· Intel® Core 2 Duo, Intel® Core 2 Quad
· NVIDIA graphic card/processor with OpenGL 3.x, GeForce product line
· min. 8 GB RAM
· Microsoft Windows 11 64bit
· Screen resolution at least 1920x1080, recommend 1920x1600
· Internet access for licensing, update service, info channel, support/data transfer and remote maintenance
· Single licensing, network licensing or internet licensing by Sentinel license key
All platforms support the use of SpaceMouse® input devices from driver version 10.xxx.

The use of NVIDIA graphics cards of the GEFORCE series with current drivers for optimal OpenGL graphics performance is strongly recommended. QUADRO series graphics cards are not recommended.
Microsoft will discontinue support for Windows 10 from October 2025. After that, there will no longer be any security updates, which poses a significant risk for company networks. Especially in areas such as NC programming, where machine controls and production processes depend on PCs, cyber attacks or security vulnerabilities could lead to costly downtime. The GIBcam team will focus further development on Windows 11. Future versions will no longer be able to run under Windows 10 or will only be supported to a limited extent.
